In this difficult work, Eric has strived to maintain the utmost integrity. Eric understands the problems that face our communities. He aspires for Kanawha County to be a place where children can feel safe and supported and a place where we are all proud to live.
Eric lives near Mink Shoals with his wife, Angela, and their children, Isaac, Lucy and Jack.
Sixteen years of prosecuting criminal cases in the busiest jurisdiction in the state gives Eric unique qualifications in this race for Circuit Judge. The excessive demands of the case load in Kanawha County are the reason that this judicial seat was newly created. The overwhelming amount of child abuse and neglect cases need to have a timely resolution for the sake of the children involved. Eric is committed to protecting children that end up in the court system and to always run an efficient courtroom. He has had the opportunity to appear before excellent Judges in Kanawha County and knows what it takes to be successful as a judge. He strives to be a thoughtful listener and understands the importance of preparedness as well as decisiveness. Eric's knowledge and experience in the courtroom make him an excellent choice for the newly created Division 8.
Eric chose to run for Circuit Judge so that he may continue his service to the citizens of Kanawha County. He will be able to apply his years of experience practicing criminal law in the courtroom to making rulings from the judge's bench. Eric is dedicated to his work and committed to the rule of law. The drug epidemic has taken its toll on Kanawha County. This is especially true when it comes to the children it has affected. Eric and his wife have three children. They work hard to protect them and to prepare them for the challenges they will face as they grow up. Eric is just as committed to protecting children that end up in our court system and wants to foster a place where our children feel safe. Eric is committed to serve in this position and use his knowledge to help others through the judicial process.
Throughout his life and work, Eric has endeavored to be honest and fair. Fairness and impartiality are an integral part of the judicial system. He understands the responsibility that the role of judge requires and that it is necessary for judges to follow a scrupulous code of ethics. Eric is a conscientious attorney and would make an honest and ethical judge.
